ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This work was inspired by the dynamic expanse of the Kimberley region of Western Australia. An incredibly diverse region of varying shades of cyan waters and coloured sands. The region experiences huge tides on a daily basis that sculpt the sea bed. This image is part of a broader collection, "Portraits of Tide" that features abstract patterns from around Australia. Patterns that are formed by the power of our oceans and the sands that are their medium. Printing & Media: This fine art print is printed with pigment inks on Archival quality Canson or Ilford Fine Art Paper with a 1.5 inch border all around. Fine Art Prints are personally produced by Ty at his studio in Vasse, Western Australia. Also available as museum grade Diasec Acrylic Mount prints or on Archival Canson Canvas. Please enquire. From the collection/series: 'Portraits of Tide’. Available in 4 sizes: 30 x 24 inches (76 x 61cm) Edition of 15 + 1 AP 40 x 32 inches (101.6 x 81cm) Edition of 20 + 2 AP 50 x 40 inches (127 x 101.5cm) Edition of 10 + 1 AP Limited Editions are signed front and back and include a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Ty’s fine art images embody an interplay of time and texture, focus and foundation — a search for what is often left unseen, unappreciated and uncommon. Views from aloft, compositions of time, and renditions to highlight the details that collectively compose the beauty that is all around us. His current projects communicate the contrasts between the rigid structure and influence of man, and the organic fluid forms and textures of nature. Born in Natal, South Africa, Ty became enamoured with the natural world from an early age. His enthusiasm for exploration, attention to detail and education in the sciences, ultimately led to a pursuit in photography where he is able to document the intricacies of the world that surrounds us. In 2018, Ty was awarded the AIPP WA Commercial Photographer of the Year, International Photography Awards (IPA) Winter Sports Winner, IPA Fine Art: Abstract Runner-up, Australian Photography Awards Landscape Finalist (x3), and was selected for the LensCulture Emerging Talent Awards. More recently he was selected as a Landscape Finalist for the Head On Photography Awards and was awarded the 2019 Prix de la Photographie Awards, Paris, Fine Art Photographer of the Year. Ty currently resides in Busselton, Western Australia with his amazing wife and three ‘spirited’ young children who are his inspiration, driving force and keep life real.
