This piece is part of my project "Contemporary Landscaping". Through the history of visual arts, from Altamira cave paintings until cinema, these art forms have not only been useful for the communication of ideas, but basically, are needed to make a documentation of the facts in a time and space, using the own language and techniques of the artist. To mention three relevant examples in art history, we can take a look at the work made by the Dutch landscapers, French impressionists and German expressionists. This “Contemporary Landscaping” presents, using digital photography, a combination of the three trends mentioned above, which will also bring back the old, but not obsolete idea, which says that every piece of art is only possible just because of its predecessors. This project was developed in the Yucatan Peninsula, in Mexico and in other countries such as Austria, Canada and Croatia. “Contemporary Landscaping” uses photography in order to show how we, as human beings, have modified the natural environment that surrounds us. It focusses on the evident intromission of external facts that violate the basic principles of how life on the planet should be and shows the self-destructive tendency of the society in the 21st century.
