Portrait of a girl gazing into fractured light. This series of drawings puts a magnifying glass on the interpreting process that comes with art, as it combines several things that are deep rooted in the oldest parts of the human cognitive faculties, like pattern recognition and interpretation of facial features, while playfully referencing (Maori) tattoo’s, traditional war paint, or expressive facial make up for stage performance, and implying psychological sub-currents of various shape and meaning.
