About The Artwork

After flying through a storm and landing outside of Gauteng in South Africa, this rainbow appeared. This part of South Africa has a very dry winter its rainy season is summer. However this was spring so the land had been crying for rain. So the grass was still beige and it has a desert like feel to it. As you are far out of town the roads are endless, and occasionally you stop at a junction. They call traffic lights Robots in South Africa, which add humour to the image. As we were driving I tried many attempts to catch the rainbow, and I finally caught it at this crossroad. There is symbolism to this image, as the light hit the ground and the rainbow stands at the crossroad as if tricking you. Which way to the rainbow.
