About The Artwork

Visual representations are about the relationship between female clothing and the male body. I use my own body for this. In self-presentations, I bring female clothing and my male body together and look for the resulting contrast. I reinforce this contrast and at the same time question it by means of photographic and optical interventions as well as gestures. I am also interested in my own feelings during the working process and my own perception of my depicted body, in which, for example, women's shoes and skirt appear as "foreign bodies" and are transformed into a "familiar body". There need not be any clear boundaries between the manifestations of the male and female sex. In the pictures I depict figures that raise questions about the order of masculinity and femininity. The works are also intended to encourage people to form their own gender constructions. To what extent do fashion, physique and posture constitute gender images? Where are boundaries between man and woman visible?
