What geometries underlie the natural and the built environments? What traces of the past do they retain? Based on the underlying geometries of the built environment, Recomposition No. 06 mirrors the times, collective, and personal memories on and after the September 11, 2001 attack in downtown New York City. This attack, which led to the destruction of the World Trade Center, significantly altered the city's skyline and architectural landscape. The central element is an abstract photograph of the landmark Oculus, designed by Santiago Calatrava, which was part of rebuilding the urban landscape. I see architectural buildings as modifications of urban space, reflecting the technology and the understanding of humanity at any time. The inspiration for this work stems from the transformative power of the Bauhaus movement, which revolutionized building design and offered significant social modifications. With their deep understanding of form, space, and structure, architecture and visual arts inspire and challenge us to approach innovative problem-solving solutions. They encourage us to see the world from a different perspective, to find beauty in the mundane, and to seek inspiration in unexpected places.

I am a New Yorker from Queens, and my artistic journey started in my teenage years when I learned to draw. My father's teachings about perspective and proportion, rooted in the architecture of Bucharest, have influenced my unique blend of realism and abstraction. With a systematic approach, I delved into specific themes, capturing the ethereal effects of light and the perception of waves. My work has been showcased in prestigious venues, including the Huntington Arts Council, the Vienna International Photography Award, and the Online Exhibition at the Visual Art Open for the UK & International Emerging Artist Awards. My latest series, "New York City Bauhaus," reflects my fascination with trans-artistic movements in the US and has been featured in exhibitions such as The CENTER for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, NJ, and LIC-A at Atlantic Gallery in New York City in 2024. I am delighted to announce that I will exhibit at the 8th Edition of the Chianciano Biennale 2024 in Chianciano, Italy, August 3-18 (https://biennalechianciano.org/en/).
