About The Artwork

This photo was taken at Granger Lake State Park outside of Taylor, Texas on one of the hiking trails. My son, our dogs, and me went hiking Granger the back way one spring day and had to have hiked several miles, the hike wasn't too bad except one very steep hill that even the digs struggled going back up on the way back. We came across this rusting red bridge not long into our hike much to our surprise. I guess at some point this trail was used as a road. I thought this out of place seeming red bridge was really cute. Don't you? Digital photo printed on Fuji Crystal DP II matte photo paper framed in a solid black oak frame with a single matte black Passe-Partout (mat) behind Mirogard museum glass. Image dimensions: 20″ x 15″ Outer size: 26.3″ x 21.3″ READY TO HANG

I am a versatile artist specializing in the creation of photo-realistic portraits, impressionistic depictions of wildlife and botanicals, and abstract compositions. My artistic repertoire also extends to encompassing photography in both digital and film formats. Employing a wide array of mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, graphite, charcoal, colored pencils, and markers, I strive to capture the essence of my subjects with precision and emotion. My artistic journey has been deeply influenced by a profound connection to nature, finding inspiration in its inherent beauty and diversity. From the delicate intricacies of humble earthworms to the majestic grandeur of winter oak trees, and the timeless allure of the human form, I aim to evoke a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world. Portraiture, with its meticulous attention to detail and quest for capturing the essence of individuals, is a constant source of challenge and fulfillment. Conversely, abstract art offers me the opportunity to explore boundless creativity, allowing the interplay of line, shape, and color to convey nuanced emotions and concepts. My artistic passion was ignited in 1991 when I first encountered the works of Romanticism, Realism, Pre-Raphaelite, Impressionism, and Post-Impressionism. Influenced by masters such as Van Gogh, Renoir, Degas, Monet, J.M.W. Turner, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Jackson Pollock, I continually seek to refine and expand my artistic vision, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of aesthetic exploration and introspection. As an avid lover of nature and adventure, I have dedicated much of my life to exploring the great outdoors. From the serene landscapes of Texas state parks to the captivating beauty of the coastline, I find inspiration in every corner of the natural world. My belief in the transformative power of these experiences drives my artistic vision, as I seek to capture and convey the essence of our connection to nature through my work. Join me on a journey of exploration and rediscovery as we reconnect our souls with the boundless wonders of the natural world.
