About The Artwork

Standing at the edge of day and night, a lone figure is silhouetted against the dying light, lost in the harbor's twilight serenade. This evocative photograph captures a single figure standing on a wet pier, silhouetted against a dramatic evening sky. The setting sun, partially obscured by dense clouds, casts a golden reflection on the water, creating a pathway of light that leads to the silhouette. The figure stands with their back to the camera, gazing out towards the horizon where the sky meets the sea, suggesting a moment of deep contemplation or serene solitude. The surrounding scene is imbued with a sense of drama and natural beauty. On the right, a grand historic building adds architectural interest and suggests that this scene is set in a city with a rich history, possibly Istanbul, given the silhouette of the Haydarpaşa Terminal. The water is ruffled by the wind, and the spray from the waves can be seen catching the light. The photo's mood is one of introspection and calm, underscored by the vastness of the sea and the expansive sky. The figure's presence adds a human element to the natural splendor, reminding the viewer of the personal, quiet moments that can be found amidst the grandeur of the natural world. The image is a beautiful blend of human scale and the awe-inspiring forces of nature, at a time when light and darkness mingle at the close of the day.

I was born in Istanbul in 1976 and began my education in the field of communication at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Communication. Continuing my education, I graduated from the Yıldız Technical University Business Administration Master's Program in 2005. My interest and talent in photography started with my acceptance into prestigious photography communities such as IFSAK (Istanbul Photography and Cinema Amateurs Club) and the 40 Haramiler. The experiences I gained in these communities enabled me to win several awards and distinctions in numerous photography competitions both nationally and internationally, including: 3rd Best Photo in the GFK Photography Competition (2017), Best Photographer Award at the Paris Film Festival (2017), Best Photographer Award at the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival (2017), Best Photographer Award at the Annual CPH Film Festival (2017), Best Photographer Award at the So Limitless and Free Film Festival (2017), Best Photographer Award at the Los Angeles CineFest (2017), Best Photography Award at the ND Awards (2017), Honorary Award - Photography, Portrait category at the Monovision Awards (2017), Best Photographer Award at the HOLLYWOOD NOW Film Festival (2017), Best Photographer Award at the Lookout Wild Film Festival (2017), Best Photographer Award at the Angeles Documentaries (2018), Honorary Award - Photography, Portrait category at the Monovision Awards (2018), Best Photographer Award at the Life Art Film Festival (2018), Best Photographer Award at the Lionshead Film Festival (2018), National Geographic Your Shot Photography Award (2019), "The Soft Gaze" Best Photography Award on 500px (2019). For the past seven years, I have been coordinating at the Yeditepe University Communication Agency and also working as a photography instructor. I am continuing my art career with my exhibition named "Punctum of Life." Combining my passion and experience in photography with my knowledge in communication and art, I am eager to participate in new projects and collaborations. I hope this brief resume impresses you and leads to future collaboration opportunities.
