REFLEXIONEN IN BERLIN - Limited Edition of 3 Photograph

Reflexions in Berlin. (2011-2019) Collection of photographic reflections of the city of Berlin. Using the reflection in the windows of the city, as if it were a flat lens, captured by photography, the urban landscape of the city of Berlin, my residence and model, but with an indirect look towards the same object that I usually reflect using the reflection of myself in glass that I happen to find in the same scene. The images formed are not a creation, rather a recreation that is formed organically through improvisation and luck, for these multiple indirect images to appear within the same dimension. So the direct photography is a partial and a flat representation of the idea of profundity and my mission is to capture the other parts of the scene and fuse them in the same image in order to point out the importance of the circumstance and the context that surrounds the object to be photographed, in this case, the Berlin landscape. I intend to create reasonable doubts in conclusions of perspective and the illusion of focus because the crystal allows me to reflect the image at the same time that it releases its inner look to amalgamate in its reflection to enable the spectator to enjoy its enveloping presence. Without any excuse, the primitive intention in my photographs is in the search of beauty in this study while remaining submitted to the philosophy of the concept. Several layers of candid reality are added in the same shot; the images are a superposition where the viewer must correct his gaze and his visual approach to decipher the different images that are mixed in the same image within the entirety. MANIFEST: It is also a practical study of the theories of our neighbor and philosopher of Korean origin Byung Chul Han who we admire much in the neighborhood of Kreuzberg; with his philosophical essay "The Society of Transparency" (2013) wherein he describes the current social events in the wake of the brilliant sociologist Zygmunt Bauman defining our modernity as a "liquid society". When it comes to photographs of images taken with the support of shop windows, I reflect "the world as a hypermarket", the objects do not seem solid, the people vanish ethereal and woven within the landscape, only their shadows remain firm giving us the merely the notion of the subject leaving us to interpret it as a reflection of ourselves. We are only the intention to be, to exist, like everything that surrounds us, vibration, energy, and frequency, the illusory. The architectures, in my pieces, merge to create "unrealities", the corporally impossible constructions; the images give form to these phantoms to show us a new viewpoint of the world we inhabit.
