About The Artwork

Old and once sent postcards with lovely and cheesy images of landscapes have been pierced by a needle of a sewing machine. By blowing up these celluloid images into big photos of 100 x 150 cm you can now see the littlest cracks and holes in these pictures and the landscape has become even more picturesque than it already was.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Transience, change, fear, frivolity and humour are subjects central to the works of Lida Krul. In her work - mainly photos and kinetic installations made of old fashion ready-made and self-made objects - she is on the one hand constantly searching for the tension between pleasure and comfort and on the other hand the uncomfortable feelings of oppression and suffocation. There is a point where the on-going repetition of silly movements of the installations are just not that fun anymore and where a melancholic feeling rises. The photos are a result of the self-destroying installation called Cache 2.0 where the needle of the sewing machine, very slowly, activated by a small engine, penetrates the image of celluloid carefully.
