SARMATKA • 1991 Astrakhan region, Russia During archaeological excavations in the steppes of the Astrakhan region. Burial ground of a woman aged 35 years (approximately) from the Sarmatian tribe, about 2000 years ago (late Sarmatian period) The remains are perfectly preserved, as there is sand and clay all around. Vintage print - 1991 print on matte paper (cardboard) • The photo print has a light wide frame and a dark thin frame made by a ruling pen (artistic ink) around the perimeter • The print has been retouched by the author, and has a finished look. • There are minor traces of time, but the Imprint has a good preservation appearance, since it was kept in a box all this time • The edges of the paper were slightly fuzzy. I cropped these edges a little and now the print looks good. • Paper size: 27.5 x 38.5 cm (10.8 "x 15.1") • Image size: 23.5 x 33 cm (9.2 "x 12.9") • Condition: Very good preservation for a print from that period. CIRCULATION: 8/25

I started taking photographs and printing photographs in a dark room as a boy since 1970. In early 1979, I was already working as a professional photographer, and parallel, I got carried away with creative photography, I photographed for myself what I like. Most often it is an old town, old houses, details of old architecture, a person in an urban environment, nature. For me, photography is, first of all, Art photography, i.e. photography as an independent work of art. A good photo for me falls into two categories, it is a photo with a meaning, or with a mood. Yes, a photograph without any meaning, but which conveys the mood to us. And great luck when these two qualities are present in one work.
