About The Artwork

Summer in Japan consists of very long, hot and humid days. Sunrise usually happens before 5 in the morning, and is usually the only time when taking pictures is phisically possible, at least for me. (I hate hot and humid days) This image was taken before 5 a.m. along the coast in Izu Peninsula, when the first light started hitting the sea stacks at the beach. It's a fairly simple image, but I like it as it portrais the start of a new day, the continuos cycle of life. The original is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Satin 310 gsm 100% Cotton white satin-finish paper and manually signed.
