Inspired by the pioneering portraiture works of last century's surrealist photographers, this work is an homage to women's self awareness, acceptance and reliance. The deconstruction of the subject, as in many of my works, glorifies its inscrutable nature while provokingly inviting to dig under its skin to explore its many-sided complexity. TECHNICAL DETAILS This photo - just like all my other works on Saatchiart - is printed on brushed aluminum. The horizontally brushed, metallic surface adds a characteristic flair to my images making them look timeless: old-fashioned and modern at the same time. Depending on the light and the viewing angle, the aluminum surface shimmers differently, therefore constantly altering the prints’ appearance in unpredictable ways. Aluminium Dibond panels are thin (0.3cm), sturdy and incredibly light. Being pre-treated with UV light protects them from light damage, dust particles and moisture. Aluminum prints are also rust- and moisture-proof. Every single limited-edition print is numbered and hand-signed digitally.

Germany
Alessandro Corsini is a visual artist working with video and photography, based in Berlin, Germany. Born in Milan (Italy) in the seventies, having grown up on the pristine beaches of Sardinia, he had his first encounter with B&W film photography during a course at his intermediate school in Maryland, USA. The interest for media has since guided his multifaceted formation, leading him not only to study and work with different media, but actually exploring them through artistic, scientific, and applied arts lenses. His eclectic body of work is a reflection of his free spirit, cosmopolitan upbringing, and interdisciplinary background. His photographic research focuses on fine-art, conceptual works that deconstruct/decontextualize traditional photographic genres and techniques, in the pursuit of a new, purely artistic, definition of photographic iconicity.
