ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I have a very small and carefully tended garden of succulents. They are my muses. I never tire of the light filtering through their tender stalks and the shadows cast depending on the time of day, weather and season. They are to me what Monet's Haystacks were to him. The agave plant is achitecturaly beautiful and spare. It is a symbol of strength, power and grace. Focusing only on the structure, void of any color or background allows the viewer to lose themselves.
