About The Artwork
Part of my "In the Quiet" Series. In her exhibition, “In the Quiet,” Tanya Solonyka explores the expression of women as they existentially assess their current situation, connecting their plight in a singular, unified voice of strength. The movement from ostracism and injustice toward confidence, defiance, and empowerment is communicated through a series of photographic expressions. Using self-portraits to universally communicate the individual’s psyche, she portrays women and the evolution of their identity in the 21st century. Limited Edition Print - Signed and numbered by Tanya Solonyka Certificate Of Authenticity: Hand signed live ink signature and edition number. Tanya Solonyka is an artist working out of Toronto Canada. Moody and full of depth of emotion, Tanya Solonyka’s photography and paintings capture the soul of any subject she is portraying. For the last five years she has been building a client following, primarily with her paintings, and is currently working on new photography projects focusing on portrait photography. Self-taught and working out of Toronto, Canada, she has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally showing in galleries such as Atlantic Gallery in NYC and BG Gallery in Santa Monica. Her photography has been recognized in juried competitions such as the Pollux Awards and the Julia Margaret Cameron Awards. She recently presented her first solo photography show “In the Quiet” with Hashtag Gallery for the Scotiabank Contact festival.
