“My work is reminiscent of when I was a kid growing up in Lambertville, NJ. I loved being outside in nature because I felt a deep connection to the natural world. I would lie in the grass over at Lewis’ Island, close my eyes and look into the sun. Then open them to see a world of colors, exaggerated textures, shapes and forms. The river would glisten and the water would dance. It created a world of movement and light. It was comforting and uplifting, evocative and exciting. I felt as though I could see the life force of the natural world. Nature has always inspired me in times of crisis and in times of joy. It lightens my heart and gives me direction and fulfills a basic human desire to be close to the earth”.
