About The Artwork
The abstract art in this series explores the transformative possibilities of color along with the use of the simple sine wave as a design element that is intregal to the art piece, overall. All of these artworks evolve from an original photograph that is manipulated in Photoshop along with other creative digital tools. This New Media artwork is a restructuring of original photographic data. Images are chosen for their color and texture with an eye for expressing a visual impact with the viewer. The artist, Wassily Kandinsky wrote, ”Color provokes a psychic vibration. Color hides a power still unknown but real, which acts on every part of the human body!” As an artist of fifty years, I’ve long had the notion that color impacts us in mysterious ways that can’t be readily explained. The art experience happens when the viewer “sees” with the heart. The artwork in this portfolio is produced as an archival photographic print that is bonded to and under polished acrylic glass that is 6mm in thickness. The reflective and translucent quality of this medium presents with stunning depth and radiance. The work is finished with an aluminum “dibond” backing and rails for hanging. No further framing is needed. This is an ultra contemporary work of art. Each piece is signed, numbered and limited to an edition of five.

For the better part of 50 years I have enjoyed and created art in a variety of mediums. I have been an actor, musician, designer of jewelry, sculptor and photographer. My expression in one medium seems to have bled into the next, resulting in my experiencing a passion and satisfaction for my life led as an artist. I currently practice photography full-time. I recently discovered an entirely new vision for this medium that resulted from many years of practice in 'seeing outside the box'. There is a perception of the world that is fresh and clear and available to me through my camera when I open up to what is before my eyes. In the stillness of this moment I simply let go of all my stories and ideas of my past and future. My images record color, texture, pattern and the spaces in between. It's the perception of a feathery pattern reflected in a patch of wet surface, rather than making an image of a cloud reflected in a puddle in the road. This contemplative approach to my photography is what I have to offer and share with the viewer. It is an artistic vision born from the union of my heart and mind.
