About The Artwork
This image is part of my ongoing (now in third season) project about Lake Ontario. Leslie Spit, where this image was taken at night during a heavy snowfall, is home to several families of trumpet swans that spend the winter in this narrow non-freezing water channel. Leslie Spit is one of the largest man-made nature areas in North America, having started as a landfill more than 60 years ago. It extends 7 km into the lake, and is now home to coyotes, foxes, beavers, rabbits, herons, turtles, etc. etc. A great place to visit when in Toronto.
