When I reflect on my childhood memories, one of them is always present and repeats itself, even once a year: my grandfather’s house in the country. I know I spent a Christmas there and I don’t remember being cold. I remember my neighbour’s dog, who would run to the gate whenever he heard me crying. These memories are mine. I know if I think about them a lot, I remember details and details, but if I don’t, they get blurred, foggy and fragile. For me, the physical incarnation of time is watching this grass grow, the ground become vacant, and my grandfather’s reaction to feeling powerless and helpless compared to previous years.
