The Beast Beside Me (the fine art of dog photography) Photograph - Limited Edition of 2

The Beast Beside Me was inspired from my 15 years of dog photography. Although, I do find the photos of dogs on social media cute and nice, I wanted to photograph dogs with a different perspective. Anthropomorphism, placing human characteristics and behaviors onto our pets, especially dogs has been happening for hundreds' of years. But I believe dogs are much more than our companions ready to please us or comfort us or protect us. I believe dogs are just as mysterious and wild as they were to us thousands of years ago. We can only theorize how they they think, observe their behaviors and mannerisms. They connect with Nature in a way, I think we scarcely imagine. Personally, I like this. Let our dogs be distinct and their own being, not an extension of what we want them to be. The Beast Beside Me is a look at dogs from a natural perspective. These are photos taken in the moment, un-staged, an unprompted. This is a natural perspective of how dogs move and interact with nature, with each other, and their humans. I cannot be more prouder of showcasing these wonderful dogs who taught me that life is about - the going there not the getting there. This is why I specialize in taking photos of dogs in action and this love of capturing dogs unaware of the camera brought about this Collector's Edition, The Beast Beside Me. The photos are dynamically printed in black and white which gives such depth to their expressions and movements. I have only created 2 copies of the Collector's Edition. The books are 30x30cm with an acrylic photo cover; there are over 30 magnificent curated photos inside, printed on 600gm paper with backing. The back cover is leather, as is the gift box. There is movement and grace on each page, which is why the "story" flows like a visual essay than a book. Each book is hand signed.
