The cloud - Limited Edition of 25 Photograph

Her photography is so simple yet complex. It often becomes a challenge to categorize her work as intended by textbook terminology. Perhaps, minimalist photography? But one must be careful, this could be taken incorrectly when looking at the subjective definition. Nothing is ever obvious in any of Claudia’s work. The elements present in her photography strive to convey a message of simplicity with the presence of basic geometric forms, shadows, lines, color and minimal decoration. A precise sense of order is seen in her work with simple elements arranged in the whole composition under natural light, that in turn reveals simple and clean spaces. If one was to place photos on a table from different photographers and amongst the photos was one of Claudia’s, I would quickly be able to identify her work from the sea of photos. Although her work embodies simplicity, it also holds strong composition with a limited number of elements. Even though no one of her images loses impact when information must be taken away. She utilizes negative, neutral, and transitional spaces. This is when our eyes are able to move freely through the image in total balance between a transitional place and a particular subject. Her work also encompasses powerful composition which is when our eyes move through a harmonious and balanced placement of the elements from right to left and from top to bottom. Without these elements having perfect symmetry. She also knows how to utilize isolation, focusing; this is when the frame will contain so little that eliminating all other distractions from the scene is a necessity. Claudia works with small amounts of color within her photography that make up a color palette. These colors from time to time are bold, saturated, and vivid but her choice of color even primary is always accurate that they never compete with the overall message. And lastly, lines, and spaces. In her work the lines focus on a sense of isolation, separation, pattern, and distance. The shapes within her work create a sense of abstract by the use of repetition and geometries, with the addition of the mysteriously strong and unique shadows. Her ability to accurately utilize these elements so effortlessly within her photography makes her work truly one of a kind.
