About The Artwork

Statement: Spring means different things to different people. To me, it means that soon leaves and blossoms will be blooming after a long winter slumber. It is the time of year when we are gently reminded that all good things come to those who wait. Description: I named this limited edition print ‘The Cold Can’t Hurt Me Now’ because the colours remind me of Spring. When I was a child, winter was such a miserable time of year for me, and I remember the excitement I felt as the windy August month was coming to an end and warmer days were on the horizon. Print Material: Fine-Art Archival Giclee Paper | Diasec

I was born and raised in Vanderbijlpark, a small town in the Gauteng Provence of South Africa, in 1969. It's a heavily industrialised area where the sky is pale, grey, or brown. Not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, a friend suggested I further my education in photography. It was then that I found an outlet to the pressing need for expression, without the misunderstood external gesticulations that limit the souls' expression. The purpose behind my work is to share what I have learned, i.e. with every experience, the good and the bad, life loves, teaches, incubates, protects, nurtures, and sets us free to live and prosper if we so choose. At the age of 48, I left my hometown and moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where I currently reside, and the sky is always blue.
