About The Artwork
Secchi sculpted them of marble for the Dall'Ovo tomb in Milan; their spacing let them grieve quietly. Closer together, more dramatic and active, the sibyl rues the day she spoke her prophecy. I strongly suspect Secchi used the same model that Bistolfi and Rubino had in 1902, here a few years older, a mature woman of her time.
