Time Line - Limited Edition of 5 Photograph

This image was shot in Los Angeles, California. I shot it at sunrise while I was standing at Griffith Observatory, looking out to the Hollywood Hills below. This image as many levels to it… The foreground is cast in shadows, and too dark to pick up details, anything could be lurking there. The background is saturated in a lot of light, making it possible to see a few details, creating an air of possibility. And the “horizon” of houses and palms is in focus, all the details are on display. It feels like a representation of past, present & future, hence the title “Time Line.” The foreground is the past, cast in shadows. The “horizon” is the present, in clear view, details are all visible. And the background is the future, awash with light, and the details are just starting to fill in! I believe that time is kind of like this image, all the layers are ever present, and wherever you shine a light that’s what comes into focus for you.
