Review in The Age, Melbourne Newspaper by Dan Rule: "This poetic installation of photographic prints by Melanie Jayne Taylor explores notions of memory and memories lost. Soureced from the artist's own archive, the prints feature one or more partial photographs often paired with images from a different time and place. These aren't fully formed memories but cues and potential connections. We're offered hints and precursors - recollections and parallels that extend from one to another - be it flowers swaying against a a balcony view or a foliage strewn country lane. Prints are strategically piled and stacked on tables but we cannot touch.
