I love symmetry, but more than that I love to search for symmetry in the natural world. Sometimes the shape of a leaf, or a line of trees can be beautifully geometric, so much so that I question if that’s really a natural phenomenon or someone actually made it. Other time, like in this case, I like to play with elements in the landscape and turn them into simple shapes that work together. In this particular shot, I loved how these trees where cutting the landscape in half, leaving the snow at the bottom and the sky at the top. I tried my best to frame the scene so I could divide the frame in three parts and give it some kind of geometrical sense. I don’t know if it worked, but I had a lot of fun trying! The original is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Satin 310 gsm 100% Cotton white satin-finish paper and manually signed.
