Tribute to Koudelka Photograph - Limited Edition of 10

Rome, April 19, 2020. Sunday. The famous Piazza Navona is usually crowded, you can hardly walk. That day it was almost empty due to the lockdown. I asked for an authorization and went there at a specific time. The same time when Josef Koudelka, on a day in August 1968, went to Wenceslas Square in Prague, and took his famous photograph in which you can see his hand with the watch on his wrist. It was 12:22. It was shortly before the Soviet invasion of the city. From my project “Out, there” (Là, fuori) I realized during the first lockdown for the Covid-19 pandemic. In the spring 2020 we were forced to close our doors, stay home under quarantine. All the photographs were shot inside or around my house in Roma. Only few of them were taken in the empty center of the city. -- The photograph is printed with a giclée process using fine art pigments on a museum grade art paper: Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta or Photo Rag 308, both premium quality acid-free cotton papers that ensure an extremely wide range of shades. Black and white in a slightly warm duotone. Limited edition of 10. 7 remaining. This artwork comes also in other sizes, listed separately. Signed below the image and on the back, and numbered.
