Tel Arad, an unrecognized village by the state of Israel, is inhabited at present by about 1,200 people, over 60% of them children. Except for a schoolhouse, this community has no basic services such as healthcare or running water, in spite of the fact that Tel Arad is surrounded by Jewish localities with running water. All the homes in the village have been issued demolition orders.
