I created the message 'Are you here for the love of art or for the love of money' and placed the photograph in a gallery setting, the message refers to Banksy piece which was created in collaboration with the Brazillian artist, Os Gemeos. It almost is giving the same message as Banksy but in the opposite way. He made a point of creating a 'gallery exhibition' underneath a bridge, a place where one woud not go, in the art district almost to mock the galleries and collectors. Why do people actually go to galleries and buy art? Is it simply because they love art or because they enjoy the high society? So many people were interested in Banksy's artwork but not because of the meaning behind it but for the value of the art- I wanted to challenge the way people think when they visit a gallery and what their actual purpose is of being there.
