About The Artwork

' Since 1960's arte povera and zero movements gave new meaning to current objects. Gunter Uecker formed new designs using nails. Torn canvases, light bulbs with different presentation and repeat provided abstract and sometimes surrealist possibilities. Muhsin Onder works in a different way his art can't be defined as arte Povera or Zro but incontrary defined as Arte Ricca or ''multiple''. We are unable to recognize the nail or the origin of the object, result is so different, multiple, rich images. İmportant method and concept in Muhsin Onder's creation is related to conversion. First Muhsin Onder has to feel the secret power of the object and imagine what type of new images object can produce, experience starts with seed in the mind and ends with many new possibilities. Most of the pictures of Muhsin Onder carry relationships from the reproduction of the seed. There are these types of closeness and same sensitivity results in very different images. Bells of the goats come side by side and resemble headgear of medieval knights or sequences come side by side and become gilded mosaic portraits of Byzantine Princess.' Jale N. Erzen / Unconvential Images Tecco Fine Art paper (295 g.), pigment print

A LIFE DEDICATED TO ART, BEAUTY AND DESIGN… He was born in Ankara, on 2 May, 1951. He grew up in the historical and cultural ambience of Kaleiçi, in Ulus, one of the oldest quarters of Ankara. Kaleiçi-Ulus has so many remains beginning from the civilizations before Christ to the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk, Ottoman Empires and of course the first years of Turkish Republic and this historical environment undoubtedly played an important role in formation and development of his cultural and artistic point of view. He lived with art in every aspect of his life; painting, photography and music have always been indispensable for him. After graduating from Ulus Primary School and Anafartalar Secondary School he continued his education at Gazi High School. During high school years, he was interested in painting and photography. His paintings were appreciated by his art teachers Cemal Guvenc and Bahattin Akay. Although he hadn’t received any special training, he started to play musical instruments such as baglama, flute, some piano and accordion through his own talent for music. He began his university education in Mechanical Engineering Department at the Ankara State Academy of Architecture and Engineering in 1973. After graduating from university he worked for Turkish State Railways for two years, but he resigned, upon realizing that classical 8 to 5 working life and this mechanical life were not suitable for him. As he helped his father who was an antique dealer at Ulus during his childhood and adolescent periods, he realized that he was conversant with trade and antiques, so he opened an antique shop in Ulus. Due to his tendency to art, he took care to buy and sell unique and artistic pieces. In this period, he started to look over paintings in a different point of view and trade paintings beside antiques. During his business carrier he had the chance to investigate thousands of paintings. He majored in Turkish paintings. His firm, Ankara Antikacilik has been regularly organizing art and antiques auctions since 2008. He established ANKASANAT art gallery in 2013 and he has been organizing exhibitions as well as auctions. In recent years he has focused on photography. He aims to highlight design and fiction in photography. Instead of photographing objects as they are in the nature and seen by everyone, he prefers to photograph the objects as in he designs himself and with his own authentic point of view.
