The vase can be understood as a symbol for aesthetic grace and the fragile beauty of human experience, while the woman's mouth serves as a metaphor for communication and the expression of personal truths. On a philosophical level, the connection between mouth and vase could raise the question of the relationship between subject and object, the human and the artificial.
