About The Artwork
There's a special trail I like to walk at all times of the year, but especially in winter, when the trees have lost all their leaves. The whiteness of their trunks stand in contrast to the blueness of the sky above. Always look up when you're in the forest, you never know what you'll see. Often, the tips of the trees are lit up by the sunlight, glowing pink as the sun edges toward sunset. This image was a double exposure using intentional camera movement. I wanted that sense of the trees growing straight up into the sky, sort of like a 'jack in the beanstalk' impression. You feel so small next to these giants around you.

I am a Landscape Photographer living in Santa Fe, NM. I use ICM Intentional Camera Movement and Double Exposures as part of my photographic process. This allows me the freedom a painter has, to see what's before me, but to interpret the image in my own unique vision. I virtually 'paint' with my camera. With this technique, there's a great deal left to chance, but there are also many 'happy accidents' as in painting. I love this way of working, it's very challenging, but also very rewarding. I'm never quite sure what I'm going to end up with until I view the images on my computer. All my photos are Archival, printed on Moab Entrada Rag Natural 300gsm heavy weight paper. I print all my work on an Epson P800 Sure Color printer. Each print is Signed and Numbered with a Certificate of Authenticity. I keep my editions at 3 in each size: 17x22 • 11x14 and 8.5 x11 priced accordingly. If you see an image you like but would like it larger or printed on aluminum, that can be accomplished.
