I used the winter clematis as a metaphor for the gradual decline of aging.
The images were taken with a large format camera using colour transparency film, scanned to a high-resolution digital format, and printed with pigment ink onto archival paper.

I am a fine art photographer working primarily with hand-crafted large-format analogue photography. Although my subject matter ranges from portraiture to landscape the influence of American abstract artists Ellsworth Kelly, Jackson Pollack and Richard Serra has led me to use photography and in particular the negative image to explore abstraction and harmony created in nature. My methodology references the origins of photography, utilising large format cumbersome cameras, though not the speediest of processes it enables me to create images with a timeless yet contemporary quality.
