About The Artwork
Winter at Morning Prayer Lake I’ve renamed this part of the Chicago shoreline, "Morning Prayer Lake." It is a study which began as a tale about the love and loss of the woman who taught me to see Georgia O'Keeffe and Gordon Parks and Seurat, and to hear Miles and Leontyne Price and Coltrane. A tale about my Mother. I often visit during the spring and summer months, but I find that its true magic is only revealed during the precious and fleeting daylight hours of winter.
