See the other photo of these "Convergent Lady Bugs" with the story. This photo was taken the next day after a snow storm. The lady bugs had been sunning in the warm spring only to get caught in a very colds snow storm. They had spent the night like this and some of them died from the cold but most of them started moving around as the day warmed up and the snow melted. I watched for a long time as many of them started crawling around and flying off in search of food.
