vanishing? Photograph - Limited Edition of 1

This is no. 1 in a series called "ambivalence," part of "the presence of absence" series, inspired by a "wrong" photograph of a mountain scene with a ghostly tree - how important is what is "not" there for us to relate to and understand the world and our emotions? in this case, are we looking at a cup that was there and is disappearing or a cup that is appearing? or is the shadow, any shadow more "real" than the object (or person) by which it is projected? I used four (very colorful!) Krenit bowls I have at home, a 5x7 silver gelatine black and white negative, and worked in a studio.
