Merien Morey is Ukrainian art-photographer and filmmaker. At 12, she discovered the world of photography through the lens of her father's film camera. Next 7 years she was taking portraits of family and friends and shot still life. At 19, she got fascinated and absorbed by street photography and started to get first commercial photo shoots. She was getting immersed in photography more and more until... her camera got stolen. For the girl from the low-paid family with no hope to afford a purchase of the new equipment in the next year or so, that seemed like a dead end. Apparently, that was just the beginning. This accident motivated her to redefine herself as an artist and to open a new door. This was the moment when she firmly decided — there's no way back. She will do whatever it takes and turn her passion into her life. She is her art. She dived into the whirl of creativity. Was hustling to borrow friends' cameras, got a chance to collaborate with French and Ukrainian fashion designers. Has worked for Ukrainian Fashion Week and Mercedes-Benz Kiev Fashion Days. However, she was still struggling to identify her own style, to define her own path. She didn't know what turn to take. Was that a time to finally stop? Or to ultimately do something different? She needed a new goal, so challenged herself to exhibit her works. And to work with ballet. Indeed, she was dancing since childhood and always got fascinated with the backstage. Last 4 years she has been working on various projects with ballet dancers. Her exhibitions and installations were presented at the Institut français d'Ukraine and Gogol Fest. In 2018, she published art photo book ''Here And Now'' which contains monologues of the dancers and photos taken at 9 opera houses in various countries. Her last project ''Another Sculpture'' was created in a collaboration with the National Art Museum of Ukraine.
