About The Artwork
This print reflects on the innocence of children and on the abuse they experience. An exercise page appeals to children of all ages either as a surface to draw on or as a diary to remember events. The barbwired safety pin indicates the abuse in disguise. The black woodcut markings suggest the physical abuse and the embossing, the idea of welts as well as hurt that exist but are not visible. The extract from the Charter,snapshot and scribble reiterate our need to see and hear our children
