About The Artwork

Limited edition of 250 prints produced, this exclusive print of Edgar Medina's original painting is 12” x 12” printed on premium giclee paper. Each print is hand-signed and number by Edgar Medina. A great keepsake and a vibrant piece for your space. Proceeds from productions of the work will be supporting an LGBTQ+ nonprofit. While the parades are postponed, June is still PRIDE month and a reason to celebrate and bring visibility to the LGBTQ+ community. The original rainbow flag was created in 1978 as a symbol of hope and unity for those fighting for change and still stands true today. I decided to create my abstract take on this iconic symbol to celebrate 50+ years of progress and continued work to come for equality for all rights.

Edgar Medina is a Houston, TX-based artist best known for his collections of vibrant abstract and mixed media paintings. In 2009, Edgar decided to peruse his artist passion full time and has been fortunate to have developed collectors internationally. His passion for art stems from his youth. Born in a small town in Mexico, Edgar spent much of his childhood indoors due to medical issues, where he found a love for art and painting. At an early age, his imagination went wild in exploring color through his artistic expressions and the influence of his vibrant Mexican heritage. Edgar is a self-taught artist. His abilities stem from his continued interest in new materials that allow him to capture the natural inspirations he finds in his daily life. His works are continually evolving both in his artistic expressions and the mediums he incorporates into his work. Staying true to his local roots, Edgar Medina operates out his ] studio in Montrose. Honored by the support of his community, he continues to find ways to partner with local charities to assist in fundraising and community outreach efforts. Edgar’s work can often be found at many local art shows and has been featured in fairs nationally including Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Miami, and Santa Fe.
