Bird Skull Studies - Limited Edition 1 of 8 Print

The 'Bird Skull Studies' print was taken from one of many skull drawings in preparation for the painting 'Les Oiseaux Perdus (The Lost Birds)'. There were weeks of making studies before selecting the final drawings to be transposed as the ground for the painting, which in itself took over a week just to draw out. I wanted all the observational details included, to fully represent the birds lost in mass agricultural production, through loss of habitat, the decimation of their insect food source, and pesticides. I wanted to show that these skulls could be all that is left of our bird population if we do not drastically change course.
