About The Artwork

Illustration of one of the greatest Mexican traditions: the Day of the Dead, especially in the state of Michoacán, Mexico. The cempasúchil flower has a special meaning on this day, it is said that their yellow petals mark the path that the dead must travel during the visit they make these days because the flower keeps the heat of the sun and its aroma guides souls on their visit to their loved ones. Winner illustration of Candle Festival, Michocán 2017
