"Rusty Nail with Raffia Tie" is an art piece where the ravages of time meet the tactile essence of handwork. The central focus is a rusty nail, its corroded surface narrating the relentless march of time, contrasted with the delicate but sturdy raffia tie. A testament to traditional binding and natural textures. Surrounding these elements are abstract squares and lines in earthy and muted tones, suggesting structure amidst the chaos. These squares, some clear and some obscured, add layers of depth and complexity, inviting the viewer to ponder the interplay of human-made order against the backdrop of nature’s entropy.

Vicenç started painting oil on canvas in 1971, when he was only fourteen years old. As Vincent Van Gogh, Vicenç Marco also signs his artworks with the name, Vicenç. Although Antoni Tàpies has been the painter who has influenced his paintings the most, Vicenç has always felt very influenced by impressionist painters, specially for Paul Cezanne. He discovered photography shortly after painting. He started taking only in black and white photos. The black and white negatives and prints were developed by himself. This allowed him to engage in the development process and achieve the desired results. While he studied fine arts at the Escola Massana in Barcelona, he discovered the world of graphic design. He was fascinated by the idea of making graphic compositions with fonts, illustrations and photographs. In 1988 he acquired his first Mac computer, which allowed him to gather fonts, illustrations and photographs in a single support to create any kind of graphic project. Although he has never abandoned the traditional techniques of drawing and painting, nowadays all his works are done digitally. Drawings, typography and photographys continue being the sources in which he bases his artworks. The final artwork is not a closed piece but an inspiration point for the viewer, says Vicenç. He think that each of his artworks are the beginning of a story, a path, a journey that we could do.
