Instagram: miin.studio Disclaimer: All my work is raw. Edges aren't tidied and the accidental heroins and patina are left in, grown, aged. Please be aware that when purchasing my work, nothing is perfect and the story aligns with this. This emotional alignment cannot be expressed in a uniformed and clinical way. Kintsugi. Nearly 15 years ago I started putting marks and movements onto a surface as a means to expel stuff… make sense, crack the code. I knew not of the significance other than the need. A huge life event (whilst processing others) meant I squirrelled away/hid/binned/forgot about many works. Not in disregard but in impatience for the next.. or maybe as a means to just be…. it was a process. I’m here. It worked.. I have foraged and found these pieces which make up my first major body of work. I have added them here. It’s time for them to ‘be’ in another persons space in order to make space for my new work, new flow, new phase… to make space for me. I am a compulsion painter. Driven by an uncontrollable urge to produce raw unplanned work. Mind to medium. Dont see what I see. Don't feel what I feel. I don't care what you see or feel. Just make it something. Your something. Heavily inspired by embracing the imperfect world of Wabi-Sabi and the shocking beauty that this often brings. Transience. Impermanence.... Crinkled fabric. Fold lines. A shaky hand. Tired 2am eyes. Sticky old paint. Big fat ageing masonry brushes. Letting go and allowing authenticity and instinct to be my guide. A physical expression of simple, organic energy flow in all its moods. I often have little recollection of the act of creating a piece for print. It just is The artist that allows oneself to be seized by a powerful force, a passion, a vague but volatile need to create something; anything, now, and who knows that such beautifully brute interruptions of life come only as often as one creates a space for such a thing to occur, that is the intention and discipline in bending the day towards creative acts, that opens the soul and calls forth that splendid shock and inspiration of genius
