Dark Matter in the Yellow Gallaxy Print

I made this monotype on old printing press in the oldest art club in US, the Salmagundi Club. It's located in the hart of Greenwich Village in New York. Monotype is very immediate and responsive to subtlety, so I feel that history of the building and neighborhood got involved in the process of the work manifesting. My interests in science and astrophysics went along my development as artist and still are finding way to show in my work. Ever expanding knowledge of the Universe is giving us unique historical opportunity to broaden horizon of ideas and our place in the world. Art is serving similar purpose but rather through imagination than empirical knowledge. Art and Science together are giving us unprecedented luxury for not only aestheticall joy but also of expanded sense for our place in the Universe and meaning. I hope for expansion to be felt when viewing my work as well.
