About The Artwork

Having in mind a video by Francis Alÿs, called "Sometimes Making Something Leads to Nothing" , I've made a series of linocuts wich are based around the idea of melting. To be more specific those prints are about the way that the forms are emerging in space, from a tridimensional object to a bidimensonal surface. I was interested in the concept of praxis as a paradox (as a practice that leads to nothing) and how I can immortalize a moment of such ephemerality. By using such a traditional technique as linocutting, I've been refering again to the idea of praxis and how something of such spontaneity can be surprised by a technique wich usually implies a long process of manufacture.

I'm a trained sculptor, maninly dealing with contemporary art within the fields of animation, performance and installation.
