Europa II - Limited Edition 1 of 1 Print

I am inspired by chance and random results. My starting point is using grids and patterns to control the process of my work. I then use chance and random selection to dictate the brush strokes I make and where they fall on the paper. I don't have a pre-conceived idea of what the finished work will look like as I can't control it and I don't 'see' the painting until I paint the final brush stroke. So even in a series of paintings they all start the same way but end up looking very different. The common element is the random results.
