Ecological systems share an intimate relationship to the organisms living within it’s boundaries. The very systems that run the environment externally seem to be the same systems that run each organism internally. Rivers, estuaries, and roots flow in a manner similar to veins and arteries creating a movement and rhythm that occurs within all living entities. I choose to work in woodcut as a connection to my source of inspiration, nature. Wood occurs organically, and can be used in a ecologically responsible manner. Wood also has a personality all it's own creating minute, but unpredictable details. By using an organic material as a starting point the connection to the working environment is further continued.
