About The Artwork
This limited edition screen print by Will J Bailey is a celebration of the great cormorant bird and the wildlife of English waterways. The piece was inspired by Auduban's The Birds of America as well as the great Japanese Ukiyo-e prints by artists such as Hokusai, but the illustrations of the bird's behaviour in the intricate oval border draws on medieval illuminated manuscripts. Hand-drawn and printed by the artist in blue, purple, gold and black, printed on 300gsm Southbank Smooth paper, using high-quality gloss inks.
