About The Artwork
We've made this piece of art this year because we are fans of Janis Joplin's music. It was a challenge for us to create this unique Janis Joplin wooden artwork. We choose to make Janis Joplin's portrait with woodburning art and her 1965 Porche 356 painted with acrylic colors. She bought the Porche in 1968, but it was used. However, Janis decided the Oyster White Porsche didn’t suit her and she commissioned one of her roadies, Dave Roberts to give her new Porsche a psychedelic paint job to better suit her style. It took Roberts a month to complete the paint job with which he titled “The History of the Universe.” We make the painting with the Porche in our manner, dadaism current, and the colors that are joyful and bright are combined perfectly with the natural, dark, and light of the burned wood. We really love how this painting turned out, as it gives a psychedelic effect when you look at it from the front, joyful and cheerful when you see the Porche, and lots of beautiful memories when you see Janis's portrait. It will be an amazing art piece for Janis Joplin lovers, or for a museum that is dedicated to her.

We are Alin and Ştefania, an art and beauty-loving couple, originally from Roman, Romania. Our artistic project, Stainless Wood, was born in 2016. We are self-taught artists and our art is different. We combine woodworking and the art of wood burning (pyrography) with painting and we create original and unique pieces of art. The wood is handmade by Alin, and I do pyrography and painting! We hope that in the future, our art will reach as many people as possible and that we will be able to sell our artworks to true collectors and art lovers! We have a lot of unique and beautiful sketches that are not implemented yet, but we can't wait to create them !!
