The " Shrine of the Book " is located in Jerusalem in the Israel Museum complex. The original 2,000 year old Isaiah scroll found in the dead sea and written in Hebrew which is fully understandable by modern Hebrew speaking people enormously inspired me to draw it. I liked very much the red spot created by the beautiful metal statue of Calder. See also my website www.michaelslatkine.com .

I am a painter and doctor in physics who shares his time between painting and science. The colorfulness and light in my paintings drew on my childhood in East Africa. In recent years I have developed a Digital Free Hand Drawing technique using a smart phone screen. For the past two years, my smart phone has been used to document six cities around Israel through 600 drawings.
